Bar Harbor CD Available

  • From Larry Peterson (3 April 2008): I have obtained a number of copies of an interesting CD from the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce. The CD contains 6 very short (1-2 minutes each) film clips that explain the history of Bar Harbor and show alot of the scenery. I will be providing a copy of the CD for each couple and each single attendee as part of the Welcome Package, but I'm willing to mail a copy in advance to anyone interested. Just send $2 (at the above address) for postage. Those who receive an advanced copy of the CD will not receive one in their Welcome Package.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION

  • From Larry Peterson (5 May, 2008): There's alot of road construction in Ellsworth now, and it will continue over the next couple of months. If you're able to circumvent it you'll be better off. Here's how to do it:

    1. Driving into Ellsworth, take a right at the Dunkin Donuts (I think It's Forest Ave.). You can't miss Dunkin' Donuts (DD) as you enter Ellsworth - it'll be on your right.

    2. After turning right at DD, drive until you come to the base of the hill, then turn Left (you'll be following the river).

    3. Go about a mile, maybe less, then turn Right after passing the school on your right.

    4. Drive down the hill (passing Library on your right) to the 4-way light on Main St. - go straight thru the light.

    5. Keep truckin' for a mile or two then turn Left on Beechland.

    6. Drive up the hill on Beechland and you'll come to another 4-way light - turn Right. This is RT. 3 going to Mount Desert Island. Head For BA HABA!
